Our policy is to ensure fair and transparent pricing. We want you to pay for the resources and expertise used in the service provided, not to subsidise a bureaucratic corporate structure or to support a large office of expensive in-house translators that you are not going to use. Therefore, at Isarey Language Services, we focus keenly on staying lean and agile, so that our pricing can fairly reflect the value of our translators and the services they provide. For example, we understand that you may just have a small text to translate, so we will not hit you with excessive minimum charges.
In particular we offer discounts to regular clients, and also try to offer special discounted rates for charities and non-profit organisations where possible.
We set our pricing looking at each proposed translation, according to its characteristics and the resources required in ensuring its successful delivery. Where fewer resources are required, we will charge less. We will agree everything with you upfront, before you agree to proceed, with no hidden extras or late additional fees.
We price each translation according to a number of factors:
The Size of the Document
Obviously, the larger the document, the longer it will take to translate and the more work is involved. This is therefore perhaps the most important factor in determining the cost of a project. However economies of scale mean that discounted rates can normally be offered for larger projects.
The Source and Target Language
Generally major language combinations are less expensive than rarer combinations, for example translation from English into Spanish or Portuguese is generally less expensive than translation from English into Basque or translation into Swahili.
The Deadline Required by the Client
We normally offer a choice of deadlines for each project with different price levels. Where your translation is not urgent and you have a more flexible deadline, we can often reduce the price.
The Subject Matter
Specialist translations, such as technical or legal translations, requiring translators and reviewers with specific areas of expertise are normally charged at a higher rate to reflect the specialist knowledge required.
The Format
While we generally work with all formats, some formats may involve extra work. In particular lists of words out of context usually require more work than, for example, the same number of words written in normal, continuous prose.
Intended Use
When creating your own documents, you will probably spend less time reviewing and editing an internal memo to a colleague than you would an important press release to be published on your website. The same is true of translations; if a translation is less critical and requires less stringent revision, we can reduce the price, whereas for really important documents it is important that extra time and resources are spent on revision and editing. While many translation agencies offer only one level of service, we offer different types of revision according to client requirements and with different levels of pricing. Additional Service
Sometimes additional services are required as part of the translation project. Most commonly these involve document or website design services, in particular reconstructing diagrams and images containing text in the translated version of documents. Sometimes a translated version of the document calls for adjustments in its design, for example when English (left to right) is translated into Arabic (right to left). Any additional services will be agreed and priced beforehand.
